Dans’ Program

“This program is phenomenal. It gives me the confidence to know when I am ready to attempt the world record”
- Dr Dan MaGehee is the holder of two US Records in Endurance and Ultra Marathon Cycling.

Dr Dan MaGehee is a world class endurance athlete who holds two United States records for long distance cycling, and will repeat an attempt to gain the World Record for a 100 mile time trial.044

Dan had to abandon a previous attempt at the world record in 2008 due to an illness that required him to stop after completing 76 miles. Having caught a bug from his son before the attempt Dan found it impossible to continue beyond this point, but as the dedicated athlete that he is, he was keen to get back on the bike as soon as possible.

Dan had a narrow window of opportunity to repeat his attempt before taking a well deserved vacation to Ireland. He needed to determine if he could recover in time to repeat this gruelling task, or leave the next attempt until his return and risk losing a significant degree of conditioning.

Dan used the SynerChi Heart Rate Variability program to establish a baseline level of Fitness, Wellness, Stress Response and Healing Capacity. Using comparative and ongoing measurements, SynerChi was able to quantify the ‘hit’ Dans’ system had taken from riding 76 miles at world record pace while ill, and determine the most effective timing for his recovery training.

This phenomenal program makes it possible to assess the degree of fitness and wellness of an individual, their stress response and healing capacity, and to monitor any athlete for overtraining or undertraining and correctly time their ‘peak phasing’ depending on their sport and season requirements. It is also possible to determine the suitability of any particular type of exercise or training program for any athlete, and to measure the effect of any change in training program or schedule so that precious time is not wasted with unproductive protocols.0003
